It was just the first stage of what could be a long race to finalize
the next transportation bill, but the June 22 unveiling of the Surface
Transportation Authorization Act of 2009 by Rep. Jim Oberstar (D-MN)
was a promising start for the future of federal bike project funding.

On Tuesday March 3rd 2009 the 4th annual GA Rides to the Capitol event took place in the metro Atlanta area. Put together by Metro Atlanta Mayors Association (MAMA) and Georgia Bikes! Some 1000 cyclists participated. Riders were escorted by police to the steps of Georgia's Capitol Building where a number of local politicians and bike advocates spoke to the crowd and the media.
We had to disassemble the bike a bit more and cut the box down to
Postal Regulations but we were able to ship this Jaos 3.0 chopper style
bike to a Soldier stationed in Iraq. This baby ought'a cheer them up!

A New York City Police officer plead not guilty to 5 charges (3 misdemeanor and 2 felony) after he allegedly body checked Critical Mass Rider Christopher Long to the ground in July of 2008. The officer, Patrick Pogan claimed that Long had assaulted him and arrested Long for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration. Coming to a store near you: chainless bicycles Actually, they've been around for a while now but, interesting none the less. I saw the Spot booth @ the Outdoor demo. I liked the look of their frames but the traditionalist in me was turned off once I noticed the belt drive. I also noticed one on the trail that sounded like a flying saucer and another that had popped it's belt. I wish I had ridden one now.
